My first pet portrait was inspired by Miss Parker my
basset hound. Since she was a puppy, she has enjoyed keeping me
company while I paint. While trying to overcome a case of artist's
block, I decided to paint the sad eyes and long ears of my studio
mascot. Staying true to my vibrant and bold style, a red, green,
yellow, and blue Parker surfaced. A year later, my friend Suzanne
saw Miss Parker's portrait and although it was only of rough draft
quality, she said she wanted one just like it of her teacup Yorkie.
With the creation of the smiling purple portrait of Tessa, and the
word of mouth advertising, my new business began. |
