about

Meredith Aiko Wilson Montgomery was born and raised in Houston, Texas. While attending Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio she discovered her passion for creating art. Meredith studied several mediums while at Kenyon, most notably painting and photography. She graduated with a major in Studio Art, a minor in dance, and a concentration in Environmental Studies. Montgomery's recent work has been exhibited in several areas of the country, including Texas, Ohio, Florida, Alabama and Mississippi.

Meredith's background in dance and choreography undoubtedly influence her style, often giving her work a sense of movement and a quality of fluidity. Her ability to generate vivid productions on canvas conjures dramatic landscapes and organic compositions which inspire each viewer to leave with their own unique interpretation. The artist is fascinated with the dynamic relationship between the conscious and subconscious and their influence on her creative process. Most recently, her love for animals has joined her passion for art in her popular pet portraits. As a new resident of Fairhope, Alabama, Meredith is enjoying life by the bay! In August 2008 she will begin working for Habitat for Humanity in Mobile and will continue to teach yoga in the Eastern Shore area. When she's not working or painting, she spends her extra time with her husband and their pets (3 dogs and a tortoise!).
